Hira Azad is a distinguished cinematography director whose practice reflects a deep commitment to the language of visual storytelling. He is able to create images of both precision and resonance by combining technical expertise with artistic vision. His body of work spans a variety of genres, including narrative films, documentaries, advertisements and music videos, each of which showcases his sophisticated sense of light, motion and composition. With a remarkable balance of innovation and craftsmanship, Azad’s cinematography engages the audience not only as a visual spectacle but also as a medium of emotional and intellectual depth. The film “Uttarer Sur” directed by Ms. Shahnaz Kakoli won the National Film Award in various categories in 2014 for its extraordinary work.
After completing his formal education, Mr. Hira Azad underwent practical training in creative video photography under renowned cinematographer Mr. Khaled Mahmud Mithu. In this continuum, he received film cinematography training from Bipul Raihan (elder son of Zahir Raihan) and Mr. Pankaj Palit. Later, he worked as a cinematographer for many national and multinational organizations like UN, ILO, UNDP, JICA and BBC Bangla. Moreover, he has also been fortunate to work with Mr. Afzal Hossain, Nargis Akhter, Mr. Iqbal Hossain (PSI), Mr. Abul Hayat, Mr. Kazi Elias Kallol and many other film, drama, advertisement makers.

Hira Azad is currently working as the Director of Cinematography at Trimatri Media Agency. At Trimatri Media Agency, he continues to expand his practice, shaping projects that meaningfully contribute to contemporary visual culture. His portfolio embodies both versatility and originality, confirming his role as a cinematographer dedicated to advancing the aesthetics and discourse of moving images.
